Julia A. Moriarty, of Burlington formerly of Medford, died July 17, in her 95th year. Born in East Boston she was the loving daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary (Walsh) Moriarty.
She is survived by 12 dear nieces and nephews and their loving families, her sisters-in-law Grace Moriarty of Medford and Olga Moriarty of Miami, FL, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her siblings: Clarence, William F. Sr., Sister Alice SND, Trudy, Edward M. Sr. and John Moriarty.
She graduated from Fitton High School, East Boston with the class of 1934 and was employed by Stone and Webster Engineering Company, Boston, for 43 years and retired as an administrative assistant. During her tenure with the firm, she was involved in many high-level defense projects, including the Manhattan Project. For the past four years she lived at Atria-Longmeadow Place, Burlington where she made many friends. She was a woman of great faith and a world traveler. Julia enjoyed, crochet, flowers and birds. She was a patroness of the performing arts and made sure to include her nieces and nephews in trips to the Boston Ballet and Boston Pops. Julia also instilled in them an appreciation for life and the world’s beauty. She was generous to her family and strangers. She will be remembered by all who knew her.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday July 22nd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday
