YORK,MAINE: Thomas Phillip Doucette, Sr., of York, ME, formerly of E. Machias, ME and Waltham, MA, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010, following a lengthy illness at his daughter's home in Tewksbury.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia "Pat" (Pendleton) Doucette, with whom he celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on April 3, 2010.
Born in Boston on October 3, 1929, he was the eldest son of the late Thomas H. and Marguerite (Herlihy) and step-son of the late Pauline Beaulieu.
Mr. Doucette was raised in Waltham, and attended Waltham Schools and later attended the University of Maine (Machias).
Mr. Doucette served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the rank of Sergeant .
Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was employed as a metal finisher by the Reese Corporation in Waltham, where he worked for over 10 years. Mr. Doucette previously worked for Brandeis University and the Waltham Head Start Program.
While residing in E. Machias, ME, he was an active parishioner at the Holy Name Church.
In addition to his beloved wife Pat, he is survived by his children, Louise A."Lou Anne" Lorfing and her husband Louis of Salem, NH, Diane M. Corbett and her husband Mark of Tewksbury, Suzanne Attaei of Machias, ME, Thomas P. Doucette, Jr. of Tewksbury, Steven M. Doucette of Lincoln, MI and Peter J. Doucette of Denver, CO; seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Louis J. Doucette and his wife Loraine of Miami, FL; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; a special daughter-in-law, Victoria Doucette of Norfolk, VA; a special sister-in-law, Carole Doucette of Waltham.
Mr. Doucette was the brother of the late Peter M. Doucette formerly of Waltham and grandfather of the late Thomas P. Doucette, III.
Calling hours Tuesday, July 20th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Wednesday, July 21st, at 10:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Greater Lowell V.N.A. Hospice, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852.
