Obituary

Mrs. Avoline Ruth Jones Grubbs, 87, of King, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Stokes county on January 9, 1923 to the late Robert Lee Jones and Mary Smith Jones.Mrs. Grubbs was retired from Wendy’s on Akron Drive and was a member of Old Orchard Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Grubbs is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzette and Tony Marion and Sandy and Jimmy Marion, both of Pinnacle; three grandchildren, Dale Marion, Jason Pettitt and Lindsey Marion; three great-grandchildren, Casey Marion, Blake Marion and Jacob Daniel Pettitt; two sisters, Ethel Keaton of Westfield and Pearl Lunsford of Winston-Salem; and one special niece, Gerri Ahting of Westfield.
Preceding her in death is her husband, William Thomas Grubbs; one son, Clarence Sams; one grandchild, Kacie Noel Marion; and three sisters, Ruth Brown, Elsie Austin and Florence Rickard.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Old Orchard Primitive Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with the Elder Vance Jones, Elder Scotty Marshall and Elder Floyd South officiating with interment to follow at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Cemetery.Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is assisting the Grubbs family.
