William Paul Byars, age 65, of Water Valley, MS died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born in Tallahatchie County to J. W. and Mary Elizabeth Gentry Byars. Mr. Byars was a self-employed farmer and a heavy machine operator. He was a member of the Charleston, MS CB Radio Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Friendship East Baptist Church.
The visitation will be from 10 AM until service time on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral services will be held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks at 12 Noon with Bro. James West and Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will take place in the Pisgah Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS. with Terry Rotenberry, Stacy Harmon, Chad Wrenn, Joel Person, Dennis Pullen and Bubba Eubanks serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Byars is survived by his wife, Linda Pullen Byars of Water Valley, MS; one daughter, Leigh (Trent) Houston of Enid, MS; one son, William Thomas “Tom” (Rena) Byars of Water Valley, MS; one sister, Mary Ann (Bill) Price of Oakland, MS; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Gentry Byars, and five grandchildren, Hanna, Bethany, Katelin, Matt and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his father, J. W. Byars.
