Joseph Kendrick “Ken” Coleman, 80, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A..M., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne McCrimmon and Rev. Sonny Pate officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Coleman was born December 19, 1929 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Silas and Georgia Minchew Coleman. He was a farmer, and lived in the community most of his life and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Tony & Becky Coleman of Irwin County; daughter & son-in-law: Brenda & Lamar Roberson of Irwin County; grandchildren: James Roberson, Joyce & Bobby Clark, Janet Roberson, Samantha Coleman and Rebekah Coleman; great grandchildren; Kyle Roberson, Joey Roberson, Lee Clark, Meghann Clark, Chip Bowen, Destiny Reliford, Dustin Reliford and Devin Reliford; Sister: Pauline “Polly” Rogers of Rebecca as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Coleman, three brothers and two sisters.
