Vincent P. Gianetta Sr.

...Retired Property Administrator for Avco-Textron; 83

TEWKSBURY - Vincent P. Gianetta Sr., age 83, a former administrator for Avco, died Friday,Nov. 14, at the Meadows in North Andover, after a brief illness. He was the husband of GloriaA. (Giardiello) Gianetta, with whom he had celebrated a 58th wedding anniversary this pastAugust 26th.

He was born in Cambridge, May 30, 1920, a son of the late Vito and Carmella (Lepore) Gianetta. He was raised in Somerville and graduated Somerville High School in 1938.During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army, assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and wasdischarged honorably as Master Sergeant.

He retired from Avco-Textron in Wilmington, as the Section Chief of Property Administration,after a 27 year working career.

Mr. Gianetta will be best remembered for having devoted his life to his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and her husband NicholasGelarderes of No. Andover; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Vito A. Gianetta of Tewksbury,Vincent P. Gianetta Jr. and his wife Patricia Criste of Woburn, William T. and his wife Betsy(Wacker) Gianetta of Scarborough, ME; a sister, Eleanor Stanford of Reading; a brother,Matthew Gianetta of Tewksbury; two brothers-in-law, Dominic Ursino of Stoneham, AnthonyMegna of Somerville; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Gelarderes of Tewksbury, Christina Sideri ofNo. Andover, Mark Gelarderes of CA, Maryanne Wilson of Westford, Anastasia Denis of NH,Michael, and Paul Gianetta both of Tewksbury, Amelia and Christiana Gianetta of Woburn, Emilyand William Gianetta Jr., both of Scarborough, ME; and 6 great grandchildren, Gina, Anna,Maria, Darian, William, and Diana.

He was also brother of the late Virginia Rose, Josephine Priore, Madeline Ursino, and RitaMagna.

His Funeral Mass was held Nov. 18, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment with Army Honors was at Ridgewood Cemetery, No. Andover.
