TEWKSBURY - Theresa A. "Terry" (Sarni) Picciotto, age 88, a former resident of Tanglewood Avenue in Tewksbury, died Thursday night, July 15, at the Blaire House, after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife for 63 years of Joseph Picciotto, who died in February 2006.
She was born in Chelsea, July 30, 1921, a daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (DeGregorio) Sarni. She was raised in Chelsea, but had resided in Tewksbury since 1954.
She worked at Sylvania in Wakefield as an inspector until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. William's Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie Proverb of Danbury, CT and Joanne Knox of Benicia, CA; four grandchildren, Adrienne Proverb Hale, Angela Knox and Amy Knox all of California, and Robert Proverb Jr. of Connecticut; two younger siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday morning, July 26, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will follow on Monday at 12:00 Noon in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte 38) Tewksbury. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, or www.alz.org/manh, will be appreciated. Her family is grateful to the competent and caring staff at Blaire House for the excellent care and treatment she received during the past four years.
