Cynthia M. (Balch) Lindsey, 75, of Derry, NH, died Monday July 12, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Medford, MA on December 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Paul and Constance (Frasier) Balch. She grew up in Medford, MA and graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1952. Mrs. Lindsey was a resident of Derry for the past 26 years, was an avid mystery reader, Red Sox fan, enjoyed traveling and especially loved her garden.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert M. Lindsey, of Derry; two sons, Scott H. Lindsey of Nashua; Eric Lindsey of Basking Ridge, NJ; five granddaughters, Megan, Jessica, Erica, Julia and Alexandra; as well as two brothers, Stanley Balch and Paul Balch.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Friday July 23, 2010 at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will be in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, ATTN: Contribution Services.
