Obituary

Rockport: Leo F. Ciaramitaro, 81, died Tuesday evening, July 13, 2010 at the Den-Mar Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rockport.
Born in Gloucester on September 25, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Ventimiglia) Ciaramitaro.
He was a past member of the St. Peter's Club. Leo had fished for many years as a deck hand and later he became a cook. When he left fishing, he worked at LePages and the YMCA. He had also worked at Varian until his retirement.
Leo enjoyed the simple things like watching old movies and sitting outside Central Grammar Apartments talking about fishing and baseball with his friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela and her husband, William Days, two grandsons, Joseph L. and Christopher W. Days all of Fairhaven, MA, a sister, Jennie Favazza, two brothers, Samuel and his wife, Grace Ciaramitaro and Frank and his wife, Ida Ciaramitaro all of Gloucester and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church on Saturday, August 7th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to the “Jimmy Fund” c/o Dana - Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
