St. Petersburg, FL: M. Belle (Fortier) Senechal, age 91 of St. Petersburg, and a former resident of Salem, died at her home on June 30, 2010, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Senechal.
Born in Lynn and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Cyril J. and Annie (L’Esperance) Fortier. During the years of World War II, Belle worked at General Electric. Most of her working career, she and her husband Bob, operated the Senechal Real Estate company in Lynn. Following their retirement the couple moved to Florida, and summered in New Hampshire. In Florida Belle was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish as well as a member of the Boca Ciega Boat Club both of St. Petersburg.
Belle is survived by 2 brothers-in-law, Ray Senechal of Plaistow, NH and Hugh Gilbert of Salem and Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Emma D. Pearl.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 9 a.m. There will be no visiting hours. A committal service will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760 or the charity of your choice.
