Betty (Linnane) Celata, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Glenwood Care and Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Lowell following a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old.
Betty was born in Boston on January 15, 1930 to the late Frank and Ellen (Cole) Linnane. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools. Betty has been a homemaker most of her adult life.
Betty is the devoted mother of James Celata and his wife Christine of Medford, Robert Celata and his wife Jenny of Charlestown and the late Thomas and Jackie Celata. She is the loving grandmother of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Joseph Linnane of Reading and the late Mary Barclay, Peggy Devlin, Helen Neary, Rita Linnane and Frank Linnane. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Betty's Funeral on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 9 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Cremation will take place following the funeral mass. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m.
