WEBSTER - Tessie (Mroczek) Surozenski, 91, of Webster, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, with her family at her side. Her husband of 50 years, Anthony S. Surozenski, died in 1993.
She leaves 2 sons, Deacon Anthony R. Surozenski and his wife Alice, and Richard J. Surozenski and his wife Deborah, all of Webster; 5 grandchildren, Anthony C. and Jeffrey A. Surozenski, Jennifer A. Vear, Lisa M. Millett and Bryan J. Surozenski; 6 great grandchildren, Kayla, Samantha, Adam, Jennifer, Ashley and Gregory; 2 sisters, Theresa Makowski of Webster and Josephine Kaczmarek and her husband Edmund of Dudley; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson Gregory, and by a brother and 5 sisters.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of Joseph and Leokadia (Bonczek) Mroczek, and was a lifelong resident. She attended Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Surozenski worked at American Greeting Card Company. She then worked at Ethan Allen Company in Dudley, retiring as a supervisor in 1974.
She was a lifelong member of Saint Joseph Basilica where she attended Mass frequently. She was a member of the Saint Anne Society and the Saint Jude Society. Her hobbies were bowling, gardening, cooking and baking.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 19, in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to either the Friends of Saint Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 0l570 or to the Office of the Diaconate Scholarship Fund, c/o Diocese of Worcester Chancery, 49 Elm St., Worcester, MA 01609. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
