DARTMOUTH -- Charles Goodale Robbins, 56, of South Dartmouth died at home Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Thomas and Barbara (Kelley) Robbins, he lived in this area all his life.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense and the Vietnam Service medals, the Vietnam Campaign W60 device, the Army Commendation Medal M205 bronze and the Sharp Shooter Rifle M16 Medal. He was honorably discharged July 8, 1971.
Mr. Robbins was a self-employed carpenter and had lived at Sol-E-Mar Apartments the past few years. He was a volunteer when the Vietnam War memorial was brought to the UMass Dartmouth campus this year.
Survivors include a sister, Susan Judge Britton of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Richard C. Robbins of Dartmouth; and three nephews, Scott Robbins, Zachery Robbins and Charlie Judge.
His funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 15, 2003 in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, Ma. Relatives and friends will be received within the half hour prior to his service. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery - New Bedford, Ma.
