Obituary

TAUNTON – Martin R. Barboza, husband of the late Norma Lee (Janes) Barboza to whom he was married for over 56 years, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on July 11, 2010.
He was 82.
Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Lottie Ann (Rogers) Barboza.
Raised and educated in Easton, Mr. Barboza joined the Merchant Marines in the midst of WW II, and was shipped straight to Germany, later serving with the U.S. Army.
He worked as a molder for the North Attleboro Foundry for over thirty years, and was later employed by Wheaton College as a truck driver before retiring at the age of 67.
Past Commander of the VFW Post 443 of N. Attleboro, Mr. Barboza enjoyed fishing, boating, and yard work, and was a talented small engine mechanic.
He leaves three sons, Michael A. Barboza of Foxboro, Martin R. Barboza and his wife Kim of Rehoboth, and Gary Bouchard of Somerville, SC; three daughters, Patricia L. Marshall and her husband Bruce of Taunton, Tracy L. Merigold and her husband Raymond of Plainville, and Holly B. Santos and her husband Mario of RI; a brother, Robert Barboza of Easton; a sister, Lottie Ann Canderella of CT; nine grandchildren; Keith, Michael, Wesley, Jake and Dylan Barboza, David and Michael Bouchard, Jennifer Merigold, and Heather Robbins; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Florence Pina, Evelyn Lima, Emily Wright, Charles Barboza, and John Barboza. Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, July 15th at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Cedar Knoll Cemetery, E. Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 14th from 5 to 8 p.m.
