Obituary

Surrounded by her family, Dorothy A. Boyd passed away peacefully on July 11, 2010 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a sudden illness. She was 67 years old.

Born on February 18, 1943 to her parents, Robert J. and Mary E. (Kelleher) Francis, "Dottie" was raised in West Roxbury and lived in Medford all of her adult life. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston and the Boston Business School in Roxbury. She previously worked as a bookkeeper for the Hegner Center of Medford and for 24 years with Ronal Realty in Medford. She was also a past President of the Massachusetts Mothers of Twins Association and the Franklin School Parent/Teacher Association.

In her spare time, she was a voracious reader, and enjoyed playing Solitaire and summers in Biddeford Poll and Boothbay Harbor, Maine. She is fondly remembered for her pound cake as well. Most importantly, family and friends regarded Dottie as an outstanding wife and mother, a good neighbor, and a wonderful and caring person who often put the needs of others ahead of herself.

In her life, she is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 45 years, William W. Jr., her son and daughter-in-law, William W. III and Michele M. Boyd of Merrimack, NH, her son and daughter-in-law, Robert F. and Robin J. Boyd of Lynn, her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen A. and Bryan P. Gobiel of Danvers; a granddaughter, Sarah M. Gobiel of Danvers and a step-grandson, Nathan Watne of Lynn; her sister-in-law, Jean C. DiGiusto of East Walpole; her sister, Marie McDonald of Dennis; 2 nephews and 4 nieces.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Thursday, July 15, at 8 AM. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St. Malden, at 9 AM. Realtives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
