Obituary

George Robert Hogan, Sr., 80, of Orlando, Florida died Friday, July 9, 2010, at Florida Hospital East in Orlando, Florida. A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Ty Ty Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Hogan was born on July 25, 1929 in Ocala, Florida and was the son of George Henry Hogan and Hannah Louise “Lady” Edy Hogan, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Henry, Christine and Lenora. He served in World War II in the Army from 1945-1948. He went to the United States Air Force in 1948, when the Air Force was formed, and retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1967. He then worked as an air conditioning contractor until fully retiring in 1980. He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Orlando, Florida and loved planting, cooking and fixing things.

Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife, Betty Dolin Hogan of Orlando, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, George Robert Hogan, II and his wife, Becky, of Orlando, Florida and Steve and Terry Hogan of Tallahassee, Florida; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cynthia Kitelinger of California and Cheryl and Jimmy Skinner of Orlando, Florida; their mother, Lois Hogan of Tallahassee, Florida; eight grandchildren, Robert, Richard and Rachael Hogan, Samantha and Sarek Hogan, Stevie Martens and her husband, Louis, Brandon and Stephanie Kitelinger; and four great grandchildren.
