Norman O. Boudreau
...former Selectman in Tewksbury; 73
TEWKSBURY - Norman O. "Norm" Boudreau, age 73, a former town official in Tewksbury, died Sunday morning, July 11, at the Salem Hospital, from complications of heart surgery last month. He was the beloved husband of Rita Y. (Choroszy) Boudreau, with whom he had celebrated a 52nd wedding anniversary this past April 19th.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine, September 12, 1936, one of eight children of the late Lucien and Yvonne (Binette) Boudreau. He was raised and educated in Biddeford, and lived in Keene, New Hampshire, before moving to Tewksbury in 1965. He enlisted in to the U.S. Army, and served with the Occupation Forces in Germany during the years between WW2, and the Korean War.
Upon discharge from the armed forces, he graduated from New Hampshire College, and Wentworth Institute and was employed as an Industrial Engineer at the Polaroid Company in Waltham.
As an active member of the Tewksbury community, he was a communicant of St. William's Church, and was active in Little League Baseball as both a member of the Board of Directors as well as a Coach. He was elected to the Finance Committee and the Board of Selectman, and retired from the town as Chief Assessor. He also served on numerous sub-committees during his 45 years as a Tewksbury resident. He was a member of the former Tewksbury Veteran's Association, and the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge, # 2070. But among his favorite achievements, was being a "Two Time FFL Champion."
Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children, Debra Morin of Dracut, Donna Boudreau-Hill, and Daniel Boudreau both of Tewksbury, Diana Mulligan of Plymouth, Dennis Boudreau of Derry, NH, Doug Boudreau of Arlington, VA, David Boudreau of Brookline, NH, and Dana Boudreau of Hudson, NH; twenty four grandchildren; four siblings, Gerard Boudreau of Billerica, Raymond Boudreau and Jean Paul Boudreau both of Biddeford, ME, and Joan King of Rehoboth, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first great grandchild due in October, and was also brother of the late Dorothy Gamston, Renald Boudreau, and Richard Boudreau.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, July 14, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
