Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Rosary Church, Stoughton at 10 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 pm. Donations in Julia’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St.,Framingham, MA 01701-4680.
Obituary
Mrs. Wilbur died Thursday morning at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham after a period of failing health. Born in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Ira M. and Katherine M. (Stewart) Savage. Resident of Brockton for over 60 years, previously living in Manchester, NH. Graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1941 and served on their reunion committe. Also a graduate of Brockton Business School. She was a bookkeeper at Ganley’s Dept. Store in Brockton for 53 years. She also worked at MB Claff & Son Box Co. and Tropical Banana in Brockton as a bookkeeper. Past member of the YMCA Outting Club. She loved animals and enjoyed dancing at the VFW in Abington. She also enjoyed taking scenic car rides with her husband. Longtime communicant of Our Lady of Rosary Church in Stoughton.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eldon W. Wilbur, two sons, David W. Wilbur and his wife Ellen of Taunton and Timothy E. Wilbur of Newport, NH., a daughter, Jane M. Capasso and her husband Rick of Wayland, five grandchildren, Michael Wilbur; Kevin and Nadia Capasso and Meghan and Katie Wilbur and several nieces and nephews.
