Obituary

TEWKSBURY: George F. Brothers, age 79, a lifelong Tewksbury resident, and well known local contractor, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, following a brief illness.
Born in Tewksbury on June 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Frederick P. Brothers and the late Dorothy (Dowd) Brothers.
George attended Tewksbury schools.
Prior to his illness, he worked as a contractor, constructing numerous homes throughout the Town of Tewksbury.
George enjoyed boating, and riding snowmobiles while vacationing with his family on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
George is survived by three sons, George F. Brothers, Jr. and his companion of 28 years, Cindy, of Tewksbury, Patrick M. Brothers and his wife Nancy of Tewksbury and William P. Brothers and his wife Rene of Meredith, NH; five daughters, Jean P. Sullivan, Karen A. Cook, Robin A. Marion and her husband Stephen all of Tewksbury, Maureen E. Degon and her husband Joseph of Pelham, NH and Tracy A. Spinos and her husband Charles of Tewksbury; thirteen grandchildren, Dawn, Matthew, Michelle, John, Katie, Billy, Sydney, Nicholas, Andrew, Patrick, Kiley, Jamey and Taylor; also seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brothers was the former husband of the late Phyllis J. (Kerrigan) Brothers and brother of the late Irene P. Edell, Doris B. Ivas, Dorothy L. Sheehan, Theresa "Milly" Brothers, Warren J. and Frederick W. Brothers.
Calling hours Tuesday, July 13th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Wednesday, July 14, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers. donations in his memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, One Bullfinch Place, Ste. 1, Boston, MA 02114.
