Elizabeth Sheffield-Fortin, 50, of New Bedford died Wednesday July 7, 2010 unexpectedly at home.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Margaret (Aguiar) Sheffield and the late Wesley H. Sheffield, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Beth was formerly employed as a substance abuse counselor for over 20 years. She was a graduate of UMass Dartmouth.
She is survived by her mother; two children, Daniel W. Sheffield and Cheyenne Joy Fortin; her former husband, David P. Fortin; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Brian S. Sheffield.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 5-8 PM prior to the service.
