Judith ”Judy” (Ham) Ridder, 70 years old, died after a brief illness at home surrounded by her beloved family and life long friends on July 10, 2010.
Born and raised in Brockton, MA. She was the wife of Jon Ridder for 48 years, daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Pat) Ham and sister of the late Richard Ham.
Judy enjoyed many life long friendships, which began on Tremont St., in Campello. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1958 and Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1961. Judy enjoyed gardening, golfing, painting and spending time with her four grandchildren. She was an active member in the Whitman VNA and the First Congregational Church where she was a Deacon and Trustee. Judy spent many happy times vacationing in her Florida home with friends and family. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Judy is survived by her husband, Jon Ridder of Whitman; their three daughters Jennifer Ridder and her husband Don Shadley, Mrs. David (Jolene) Sheehan, and Mrs. Anthony (Janelle) Rotondi all of East Bridgewater; four grandsons Ryan and Matthew Sheehan and Bradley and Connor Rotondi; many close friends.
Calling hours will be held at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman on Tuesday July 13th from 5:00-8:00PM. The funeral service will be held in the First Congregational Church, Whitman on Wednesday July 14th at 10:00AM. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Judy’s memory to the First Congregational Church, 519 Washington St., Whitman, MA 02382.
