Obituary

Dorothy E. (Burns) Malcom 85, of Blackstone, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family Friday July 9, 2010. She was the wife of H. Murray Malcom.
Born in Newton, October 20, 1924 a daughter of the late Walter & Bernice (Powell) Burns, she was raised and educated in Newton, and was a longtime Franklin resident until moving to Blackstone in 2004.
Mrs. Malcom was a retired homemaker and was a former member of the Newton Upper Falls Baptist Church. She loved music, and enjoyed playing the organ. She loved to entertain at her home, and especially enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 65 years is a son; Robert M. Malcom of Woonsocket, a daughter Donna L. Stevens and her husband Buddy of Blackstone, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late; Charles, Howard, and Clarence Burns, Walter Powell, and Margaret McGough.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Monday July 12th, at 10AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.franklinfuneral.com.
Interment will follow in the family lot in Newton Cemetery.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2-6PM.
