Obituary

ALAN J. MCINNIS, 85, of Hingham , died on Wednesday, June 30th, 2010 at Harbor House Nursing Center in Hingham. Mr. McInnis was born in Providence, RI and has been a Hingham resident for the past 62 years. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator and flight engineer. After his military service, he became a naval architect for the family yacht design firm of Eldredge-McInnis, Inc. of Boston and succeeded his father, the late Walter J. McInnis, as president of the company in 1980. He also was a 50 year member of the Hingham Yacht Club and a lifelong member of the Norfolk Trout Club.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Annemarie C. (Junker) McInnis of Hingham and was the father of Craig McInnis and his wife Heather of Kennebunkport, ME and Lisa Stevenson and her husband Bill of Crosswicks, NJ. Also survived by his grandchildren; Corey Gagnon and her husband Scott, Chelsea Stevenson and Will Stevenson; and his great grandson, Kash Gagnon.

The private funeral services and interment will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the charity of choice.
