Obituary

Virginia (May) Mansfield, 90 of Medway died July 2 in the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation in Natick. She was the wife of the late Charles Mansfield.
Born in Waltham, May 24, 1920, the daughter of the late William F. and Mary E. (Tulis) May, Mrs. Mansfield was raised in Wellesley and had lived in Framingham for many years before moving to Medway 20 years ago.
She was a graduate of Wellesley High School and Simmons College.
Mrs. Mansfield had written a column for the Manchester Union and other newspapers about the challenges and experiences of aging.
During World War II, Mrs. Mansfield served in the Red Cross and was stationed in the Philippines.
Mrs. Mansfield had been a Library Trustee in both Medway and Framingham.
She loved to read and to garden.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Mansfield of Hilo, Hawaii, Benjamin Mansfield and his wife Marybeth of Mashpee, Liza Toffling of Wells, Maine and Nina Casali and her husband Richard of Medway.
She is also survived by her sisters, Gloria Sessions of Farmington, Connecticut, Marylou Hartmann of Silver Springs, Maryland and a brother, William May and his wife Ann of Winchester.
She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 9 in St. Joseph Church in Medway at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.
