Constantine B. "Chris" Sylvia, Jr., 91, of Middleboro died November 12, 2003 at Tobey Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Irene V. (Tomasik) Sylvia,and son of the late Constantine B. and Francisca C. (Bettencourt) Sylvia.
Mr. Sylvia was born in Dartmouth and had lived in Dartmouth and Middleboro for all of his life.
He was formerly employed by Sylvia and Sons Farm in Dartmouth and later worked at A.A. Will Sand and Gravel for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Sylvia enjoyed spending time with his dogs.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judith J. Hart, and her husband Francis J., of Dartmouth; a son, Gary L. Sylvia of Middleboro; a step-son, H. George Hadsell of Georgia; a brother, Edward B. Sylvia of Dartmouth; 2 sisters, Josephine Lacerda of New Bedford and Helen Bettencourt of Seekonk; 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey P. Hart, and his wife Lisa, and Kristine E. Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Joseph B. Sylvia, Emma Pereira, Mary Avila, Anna Jacintho, Elvira Roque and Ventura Sylvia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordFriday, November 14th at 10 AM.
Visiting hours Thursday, November 13th from 6-8 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
