Obituary

Rita Lussier, 96, formerly of Church St., Manville, died Saturday morning at Woonsocket Health Center. She was the wife of the late Donat Lussier.
Born in Warren, she was a daughter of the late George and Auxilia (Laferriere) Beauchesne. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life.
Mrs. Lussier was employed by Woonsocket Coat Company, Sadwin’s, and the Rochambeau worsted mills before retiring in 1972.
Rita was one of the original residents of Manville Manor was member of the Manville Manor Association, the Golden Agers, and St. Anne Sodality.
Rita’s favorite pastimes were sewing, knitting, and crocheting, as well as playing cards and bingo. She had an innate talent for music and was adept at playing the organ. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother.
She is survived by a son, Raymond D. Lussier, and his wife Diane, of Woonsocket. A sister-in-law, Pauline Lussier of Chicago, and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 8:45 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Thursday morning from 8:45 -9:45 am prior to Mass.
