Charlton: Noreen F. (O'Connor) Carlson, 91, passed away from pneumonia on Friday, July 2, 2010, in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. Her husband of 52 years, Alden E. Carlson passed away in 1991. She leaves two sons and one daughter Alden Edward Carlson and his wife Rita of Great Barrington, MA, Gerilyn "Joyce" St. Sauveur and her husband John of Marco Island, FL, and William Paul Carlson of Southbridge, MA; and one grandson, Nicholas Carlson.
Noreen was born in Concord, MA, daughter of Jeremiah and Maude (Annis) O'Connor. She graduated from high school in Worcester and attended Worcester State College. She worked for the Comm. of Mass. as an Employment Specialist Supervisor. She and her husband operated the Carlson Christmas Tree Farm in Charlton for many years. She spent her winters in Marco Island, FL. Noreen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Southbridge Women's Club, Charlton Historical Society, and Retired MA State Employees Association. She enjoyed swimming and volunteer work through her church.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church 10 H. Putnam Ext. Charlton. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 4-6 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester.
