Calvin C. Chase, Sr., 90 of Londonderry, NH died peacefully Saturday July 3, 2010 at his home. Mr. Chase was born in Londonderry, NH on December 2, 1919, son of the late Jacob S. and Harriet F. (Stevens) Chase. He was a lifelong resident of Londonderry. Mr. Chase served with the US Army during WWII in the Mediterranean and earned the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, and was employed for many years as a logger and farmer. He had operated Cal's Vineyard for the past 25 years. He was a charter member and past president of the Citizens for Better Government.
He is survived by his son, Calvin C. Chase, Jr. of Dunstable, MA, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 2005 by his wife, Irene (LaPorte) Chase and by his 7 siblings.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, July 7th from 6 to 8 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A graveside service with military honors was held Thursday, July 8th, at 12:30pm in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
