WORCESTER___Anna N. Shevchuk, 93, of Worcester, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St.
She leaves a brother, George Shevchuk of Worcester; two sisters, Evelyn N. Schyrinski of Worcester and Stella Masiuk and her husband John of Ludlow; a sister-in-law, Florianne G. (Soucy) Shevchuk of Worcester. She was predeceased by a sister and three brothers, Luba, Andrew, Wasel and Konstantine Shevchuk. She also is survived by her nephews and nieces, Gregory Shevchuk and his wife Gwendolyn, Rosemary Shevchuk, Stephanie Villinis and her husband Bobby, Mary Ann Jorge, Christine Silva and her husband Michael, her great nephews and great nieces, Christopher Shevchuk, Patricia, Michael and Jessie Villinis, Jonathan and Jennifer Jorge and Nicholas and Heather Silva. She was born in Holyoke, a daughter of Gregory and Stephanida (Minuk) Shevchuk and has lived in Worcester for most of her life.
Miss Shevchuk graduated from Commerce High School. She was a homemaker and a hardworker who was always willing to help anyone and will be dearly missed. Anna liked to travel and enjoyed visiting the Vatican, Russia, Istanbul, Paris, France and many other countries. She was a member of Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church in Maynard, the Worcester Senior Center and the AARP.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 7 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a service at 10:30 AM in Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church, 15 Prospect St., Maynard. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday July 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Panikhida service will be held at 7:00 pm during calling hours.
