Obituary

Lawrence, MA – James A. Byrnes, 70, died July 3rd 2010 at the West Roxbury VA hospital.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Jim was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School and the son of the late John J. and Helen T. (Mikases) Byrnes.
Mr. Byrnes was formerly employed for many years with Bolten-Emerson in South Lawrence as a Computer Analyst.
During the Korean Conflict Jim served his country in the United States Army as a Marksman, and received the Sharpshooter Badge prior to being honorably discharged.
Mr. Byrnes took computer courses to further his knowledge with them while working. He was a very talented artist in wood carving, who enjoyed chess, reading, and was a huge basketball and Boston Red Sox fan and also liked the New England Patriots football team.
In Lawrence he belonged to the Ward 6 Social and Political club.
A lifelong resident of Lawrence he is survived by two children: Jennifer and her husband Charles Howard of Fremont, NH, and Jonathan and his wife Anne Marie Byrnes of Haverhill, brothers; Philip J. and wife Wellena Byrnes of Methuen, Michael F. and his wife Karen Byrnes of Florida, and John J. and his wife Joanne Byrnes of Methuen, 4 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and uncles.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Graveside Committal Service will take place on Friday morning, July 9th at 10:30 at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery,29 Barker Street
