Obituary

Worcester - Margaret Emelia (Kallstrom) Landgren, 88, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at Lutheran Healthcare. She leaves her husband of 61 years, Knute L. Landgren and a son Gary P. Landgren of Worcester. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. and Ethel E. (Atterstrom) Kallstrom. Mrs. Landgren had several years as executive secretary at Norton Company Machine Tool Division and retired as a secretary from Astra Pharmaceutical Products, Inc. Mrs. Landgren was a 1939 graduate of the former High School of Commerce and attended the Salter Secretarial School. She was a member of Daughters of Emmanuel. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Nordic Lodge #611 Vasa Order of America, and of the former Greendale Retired Women's Club. Mrs. Landgren had several years as a volunteer with The Age Center of Worcester.

Margaret enjoyed antiques, flea markets, going to yard sales, taking day and overnight trips with her family and was an avid book reader. She had a very prominent artistic ability with knitting, painting, and other hobbies. She enjoyed walking and caring for her dog, a miniature schnauzer named Sven, from 1992 until 2007.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran Healthcare and Davita Dialysis for their care of Margaret during the final years of her life.

A Memorial Service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Thursday, July 8, at 7:00 p.m. A calling hour from 6-7 p.m. will be held prior to the service. Burial will be in the All Faiths Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster St., Worcester MA 01609-3152.
