In Taunton, June 30, 2010 Eva Cavanagh, age 96, passed away in Morton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Eva was the wife of the late Robert Cavanagh for 59 years. She was born in Taunton to her late parents Hormedas & Mary (Wilbur) Talbot. Eva was educated in Taunton schools. She worked at the Mount Hope Co. until she started her family. Eva was a former member of the St. Nicholas Women’s Guild, she enjoyed bowling in many local leagues, loved her dogs and visits from her family and would challenge all to a game of scrabble. Eva is survived by her children; Michael Cavanagh and his wife Carol of Longmeadow, MA., James Cavanagh and his wife Marsha of CA. and Joan McKenna and her husband Patrick of Taunton. Her grandchildren; Whitney Cavanagh and James Shifflett of N.C., Christopher Cavanagh and wife Amy of VA., Lindsey Folkers and her husband Christopher, Shannon, Christopher and Brett Cavanagh all of CA. and also six great grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her siblings; Lena Bleau, Alfred Talbot, Forence Viera, Mildred Rodier, Elsie Torres and Howard Talbot. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA. 02780 on Weds. July 7th at 10am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
