SALEM - Chester J. Mielcarz, 86, formerly of Salem MA, died Wednesday, June 30,2010 at Pleasant View Retirement Center in Concord NH.
He was born on November 23, 1923 in Salem MA, son of the late Anthony and Anna Mielcarz. He graduated from Salem High School where he was an outstanding athlete.
He worked as a professional salesman and was employed by Bay State Cutting Die and Northeast Cutting Die Corporations. He enjoyed watching and participating in all sports, especially golf. He was a long-time member of Beverly Golf and Tennis Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his family
He was predeceased by a son, David A. Mielcarz; two brothers, Walter Mielcarz and Henry Mielcarz, and two sisters, Wanda Surowiec and Stella Gondella.
Surviving family members include his devoted wife of 64 years, Regina C. Mielcarz; two sons, Chester J. Mielcarz, Jr. and his wife Yvette of San Jose CA and Robert S. Mielcarz and his wife Elaine of Concord NH; daughter, Karen M. Szydlik and her husband Barry of Southbridge MA, and daughter-in-law, Jane P. Weisman and her husband Stuart of Princeton MA.; brother Thaddeus Mielcarz of Exeter NH.; grandchildren Dr. Daniel W. Mielcarz and wife Ann of Lebanon NH, Brian J. Mielcarz of San Jose CA, Kara M. Geiselman and husband, Kyle of Salem MA, Lauren M. Christensen and husband, James of Andover MA, Anabel A. Szydlik and Sophie C. Szydlik of Southbridge MA, Peter C. Weisman of Worcester MA, Joshua Weisman of Chicago IL, and two great-granddaughters, Sadie E. Mielcarz and Helena B. Mielcarz of Lebanon NH, as well as many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 9 am from the Full- Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem, Common Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Route 114, North Street, Salem, at the Peabody line. Visiting hours are Monday, 3 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the David A.
