Obituary


Mr. Wallace J. Lawson, age 81, of Rural Hall passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Lawson was born in Surry County on September 20, 1928 to the late Walter and Bertha Eaton Lawson, Sr. Wallace worked and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Lawson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry (Shirley) Lawson of King and Donald (Cathy) Lawson of Walkertown; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol (Gray) Thomas of Pilot Mountain; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers, Delmar (Shelby) Lawson of Walkertown and Walter Lawson, Jr. of Ararat; two sisters, Joan Calloway of King, and Frances (Riley) Collins of Pilot Mountain. Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gary Lawson and one sister, Vangeline Tickle.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 11:00 AM with Bro. Don Collins officiating with interment to follow in the Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Friendly Chapel Baptist Church, PO Box 425, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
