SALEM - Anne E. (Lesch) Harney, 88, a lifelong resident of Salem, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Center in Salem, where she resided for the last 3 3/4 years.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand A. and Alice M. (Quinlan) Lesch. She attended Salem schools and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Prior to her retirement in the mid 1980's, Anne was employed as an accounting supervisor in the offices of the New England Telephone Company, in Salem and later in Boston.
Anne enjoyed gardening and loved to travel, both in the US and abroad, especially with her late sister, Mary, who died in 2009.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, F. Alfred and Theresa Lesch of Beverly, one sister, Alice R. Zulkowski of Port St. Lucie, FL, a sister-in-law, Evelyn L. Lesch of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Robert W. Lesch and one sister, Mary C. Lesch.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in her memory on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10 am in the Chapel at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem. A committal service will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
