Dorothy A. (Shahtay) Lewinsky, 92, of Bellingham died peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Joseph W. Lewinsky who died in 1995.
Born in Boston on September 27, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Chukryk) Shahtay.
Mrs. Lewinsky was a resident of Bellingham for the past 60 years.
Retiring at the age of 66, she worked at General Electric in Ashland for 14 years and had formerly been a seamstress at Jogtog in Milford and Anthony Roberts in Milford.
She is survived by; two daughters, Dorothy F. Colabello of Milford and Patricia A. Thombs and her husband, Philip of Holliston and two sisters, Sophie Shahtay of Bellingham and Patricia Stearns of Medway.
She is also survived by; two grandsons, Brian Thombs of Westborough and Kevin Thombs of Bellingham, four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Aiden, Rachel and Mia and four nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, July 3 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Brendan’s Church in N. Bellingham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m.
