Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Kenneth Francis Ryan, 84, died Friday, June 25, 2010 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following an extended illness.
Born in Gloucester on December 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Bernice E. Ryan. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean War and was the proud recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the Philippine Liberation Theatre Medal. He served as a firefighter for the City of Gloucester during the 1950’s.
He is survived by his four children, Jeanette Wall of Boxford, Linda Taylor of Pompano, FL, Patricia Gallagher of Newburyport and Kenneth Ryan of Carlsbad, CA.
His funeral service was privately held on Tuesday in the Veteran’s Section of Beechbrook Cemetery, W. Gloucester. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Gloucester Firefighter’s Relief Assoc., 8 School St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
