Obituary


Leo P. Lebrun 88, of Wake Robin Rd., Lincoln, died Saturday at the VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Irene (Froment) Lebrun for sixty four years. Mr. Lebrun was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Raoul and Regina (Cournoyer) Lebrun.
He was a Pearl harbor survivor and served in the Asiatic Pacific, has a technician fifth Grade with Battery C 8th Field Artillery,25th Infantry Division as a forward observer. He saw combat at Guadalcanal and Northern Solomons and Luzon. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon with four stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with battle star. He was a life member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association, and former president of the Little Rhody Chapter. He was also a life member of the VFW Post 6342 in North Smithfield, the 25th Tropic Lightening Division Assoc, and the DAV. He was employed at Star Market for thirty years as a meat cutter, retiring in 1984.

Besides his wife he is survived by a sister Georgette Calascibetta of Marco Island, FL, eight nieces, six nephews, and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Normand and Marcel Lebrun, Doris Desjardins, and Cecile Brown.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8 PM.
