RAYNHAM – M. Evelyn (Souza) Moura, wife of the late James S. Moura, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on June 28, 2010.
She was 85.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Mary A. (Pimental) Souza.
Mrs. Moura was educated in Assonet and Fall River schools, and was a 1942 graduate of Durfee High School.
A self-employed hairdresser, she was past president of the Taunton Cosmetologist Association, and a member of the Amreican Legion, Post 405, Women’s Auxiliary of Raynham.
A communicant of St. Ann Church, and member of the St. Ann Women’s Auxiliary, she enjoyed cooking and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth A. Moura of E. Taunton; three brothers, Joseph Souza of Berkley, Francis Souza of Taunton, and Robert Souza of Brockton; three sisters, Barbara Holtz of Sacramento, CA; Libania Souza and Agnes Massey, both of Mission Vieho, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late John, Anna, and Florita.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton, on Thursday, July 1st at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass, to be held at the St. Ann Parish Center, Raynham (adjacent to the church) at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 30th from 5 to 8 p.m.
