Augusto P. “Gus” Baglioni 93, a longtime Franklin resident, and a former Mashpee resident, died peacefully at his home in Franklin Saturday June 26, 2010. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Chrestensen) Baglioni, who died in 2002.
Born in Southbridge, a son of the late Virginio and Giovanna (Costanzi) Baglioni, he was raised and educated in Southbridge, and lived in Franklin for most of his life. He also spent many winters in Ft. Worth, Florida.
Mr. Baglioni was the retired owner of the Franklin Sheet Metal Company in Franklin, a family business that continues today.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, and was a longtime member of the Franklin Country Club.
He is survived by 4 daughters; Susan C. Genoa and her husband Paul of Franklin, Sandra C. Bokelman and her husband David of North Attleboro, Jean M. Devaney and her husband John of Sudbury, and Joyce A. Charbonnier of Franklin, a sister Rita Beaulieu of Burlington, Vermont, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
He was also the father of the late Joanne M. Mucciarone of Franklin, and the brother of the late Fernando P. “Fred” Baglioni of Franklin, and Elda Fantaroni.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday June 30th, at 10:45AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 11AM.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 9-10:30AM.
