Carolyn (Wallace) Stone, 65 years old, died Friday June 25, 2010 at her home in Marshfield after a long illness.
Carol was raised in Rockland, MA. She later became the wife of the late George Stone of Brockton, MA. where they made their home and raised their three children. After George's death in 1994, Carol built her home in Marshfield.
Carol was an active member in the Marshfield Community. She was a lifetime Member of the Marshfield Yacht Club. She dedicated her time to the Marshfield Boosters, Marshfield Seniors, Senior Center and the Marshfield COA. She was also an active volunteer in the Meals on Wheels program. She organized and participated in fundraising events for these programs. Carol founded the Red Hat Lady "Red Devils" Chapter in Marshfield and was the Queen Mother, and formed the "Marshfield Red Devil Dancers" who entertained and brought joy to the elderly in local nursing homes.
Carol was the Daughter of the late Elsie Johnson & the late James Wallace. She was a devoted Mother to James Stone & wife Anne of Marshfield, Kimberly Wallace & Husband Philip Wallace of Brockton, MA. and MarciBeth (Heighton) Goldman and her Husband Stephen Goldman of Marshfield, MA. She was a Proud Grandmother to Jordan Barnes, Samuel Stone, Erica Wallace, Christopher Wallace, and Robert Heighton. She is survived by her brother William Wallace, wife Becky Wallace and son Kevin Johnson of Alabama. Step Sister to Marilyn Combs, and Step Brother David Johnson both of Indiana. Surviving relatives also include: beloved Friend & Sister-in-Law Beverly Coan of Marshfield, Brother-in-Law David & wife Elaine Stone of Easton. She was preceded by the late Brother-in-Law Richard Coan of Marshfield.
She also has many beloved Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews who survive her from the Cookson Family of Rockland, Ma. She was blessed to have many close friends who loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St, Rte 139, Marshfield on Tuesday at 10:00 am.
Visiting hours Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
This angel has got her wings, in the arms of her loved ones and now at peace. Carol will always be in our hearts.
