George W. Heasman, 89 years old, widower of the late Ruth (Dodge) Heasman, died Monday, June 21 at the home of his niece in Lowell.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada on December 18, 1920, he was a son of the late George T. and Eunice (Feltmate) Heasman and was educated in the Lowell schools. He then graduated from the former Teachers College of Connecticut now Central Connecticut State University in New Britain and received a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut. Mr. Heasman received his 6th year Certificate from Stout State University.
Mr. Heasman served in the United States Army during World War II achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a former teacher of Industrial Arts for 31 years at Rockville High School in Connecticut. He retired from teaching in 1986.
He is survived by his six nieces and nephews and was the brother of the late Harry and John Heasman, Sadie Baxter, Ella Rourke and Margaret LaFebvre.
It being his request, all services were private and burial took place in the Westlawn Cemetery in Lowell. Arrangements by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST. LOWELL
