Methuen, MA – Joan M. (Koloske) Hatem, 79, died Wednesday June 23, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A resident of Methuen Mrs. Hatem was born in Menasha, Wisconsin and since 1956 had resided here. She was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Annabel (Bodden) Kosloske. Joan was a graduate of Saint Agnes School of Nursing and the University of Wisconsin.
She worked for many years with her late husband Dr. Herbert J. Hatem. Mrs Hatem was a former president of Caritas Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer at Merrimack Valley Hospice, a volunteer at Caritas Holy Family Hospital Gift Shop, and Joan was an avid quilter at the Methuen Senior Center.
The widow of Dr. Herbert J. Hatem Joan is survived by children; Ann & her husband Ernest Griffiths of Methuen, Louise & her husband Ernest Troost of California, Paul & his partner Carrie of Arlington, Michael & his wife Jan of Falmouth, Maine, David & his wife Michele of Northboro, Stephen & his wife, Talvi of France, Jean and her partner Julian of Anchorage, Alaska, Joseph & his wife Melissa of Yonkers, NY, Andrew & his wife Kristina of Westwood, 1 sister Ann Mary & her partner Mary of Sanibel, Florida, brother-in-law John Sullivan of Naples, FL, sister-in-law to Victor Hatem & his wife Grace of Salem, NH, loving sittoo to Lucy, Mark, Andrus, Rose, Sam, Jonathan, Miku, Ella, Marlena, Christopher, Emma, and Allen. numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Hatem was predeceased by her sister Nancy Sullivan, and her son Allan Hatem.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday morning at 11 o’clock in Saint Anthony’s Maronite Church of Lawrence with burial to follow in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends will be warmly received on Saturday evening from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
