Obituary

Dr. Robert S. Curtin, lifelong resident of Medford, died of Lymphoma at Tufts Medical Center on June 23 at age 70. He was the beloved husband of Dorothea E. (Brown) Curtin. Loving father of Thea E. and her husband Joseph Doherty of Mansfield and Robert D. and his wife Jacqueline M. Curtin of Winchester. Cherished grandfather to Alexandra, Samuel, Hannah and Ainsley. He was the son of the late Edward P. and Mary B Curtin and is survived by his devoted brother Edward B. and his wife Mimi Curtin of AZ. Dr. Curtin was a graduate of Medford High School and Boston University. He taught at Northeastern University for 40 years where he was a popular Professor known for his courses History of Sport in America and Sport and Society. He was also a longtime member of the Winchester Country Club.

Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Sunday June 27, 2010 from 4 to 8 PM. His funeral service was celebrated on Monday June 28, 2010 at 10 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High St., Medford, MA. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
