S. David Dorfman, 89, passed away on June 23, 2010 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Mr. Dorfman was a resident of Chelsea for many years and was a resident of Revere for the last 25 years. He was born in Chelsea and attended the Chelsea schools. David was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1938. He was a retired electronic technician of 30 years for ITEK Corporation. David was the Past President and Treasurer of the Shurtleff Street Shule. He was the Past Chancellor of the Knight’s of Pythias, Roosevelt Lodge, Lynn, MA., during his membership he was a recipient of the Sir Knight Award. He was also a member of Dokey’s, a social group of the Knight’s of Pythias.
David was the beloved husband of Alice Susmanovitz. He was the devoted father of Howard L. Dorfman and his wife Susan, Ann Adell and her husband Steven, and the late Michael S. Dorfman. He was also the loving grandfather of Shayna and Cara Dorfman, Joshua and Tara Adell, and Rachel Adell.
Graveside services will be held at the Mishna Cemetery, 232 Fuller St., Everett on Friday June 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Memorial observance will be held at the Jack Satter House, 420 Revere Beach Blvd., 9th floor, Revere, MA, following the interment until 5:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Sunday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Jack Satter House Tenants Association, 420 Revere Beach Blvd., Revere, MA 02151 or to Congregation 420, at the above mentioned address.
