TEWKSBURY: Agnes P. Mahoney, age 92, of Tewksbury, formerly of Winthrop and Westwood. Passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Pines of Tewksbury.
Born in Winthrop on August 2, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Mahoney, M.D. and the late Agnes (Driscoll) Mahoney.
Agnes was raised in Winthrop, attended Winthrop schools and graduated from Winthrop High School. Following graduation, she attended the College of New Rochelle in New York, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Education. Agnes later earned her Masters Degree in Education from Boston College.
Prior to her retirement , she was employed a teacher by the Winthrop and Natick Public School System.
She is survived by two sisters, Miriam M. Wynn of Tewksbury and Marguerite "Peg" Donegan of Lakewood, CO . She also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Agnes was the sister of the late Charles F. Mahoney, Jr. and Paul R. Mahoney.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 25th, at 11:30 a.m., at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. At the request of the family there will be no funeral procession or calling hours. Please join the family at church. Following cremation, interment will be at Winthrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
