GLOUCESTER: Bernice H. “Bunny” (Hofemann) Chisholm, 85, formerly of Cambridge, died June 15, 2010 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital. She was the wife of the late Louis M. Chisholm, who died in June of 2003.
Born in Lawrence on October 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Otto A. and Mary Jane (Rita) Hofemann.
A graduate of the Searles High School in Methuen, it was written in her yearbook “She was as bright as a dollar.” She was employed for many years as an assembly worker for TRW until her retirement. She had been a resident of Gloucester since 2003.
Bunny enjoyed socializing, was thoughtful and kind and always a loyal family member. She loved her friends at the Rose Baker Senior Center and attended the Ladies Bible Study at Calvary Baptist Church and the Senior Group at Trinity Congregational Church. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Charlotte M. Keating of Waltham, a brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Lois Hofemann of Dover, NH, nieces and nephews, Patti Lizotte, Catherine Sorenson, Paul Hofemann, Steven Hofemann, Leonard A. Keating, Janet, wife of Donald Moody, with whom she had resided, along with their children, Terri, Amberly and Steven Moody. All her grandnieces and grandnephews loved and were loved by Aunt Bunny. She was also predeceased by her sister, Edith Reilly.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday in the Calvary Baptist Church, 384 Washington Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be held in the Beechbrook Cemetery, West Gloucester.
