Christine Steverson, 69, of Ocilla died Tuesday, June 22 at Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tift County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ocilla from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.
Ms. Steverson was born December 5, 1940 in Ben Hill County to the late Joseph J. Steverson and Essie Mae Branch Steverson. She was a 1958 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mrs. Steverson received her LPN degree and was employed at several nursing homes and hospitals in the area. She lived in the community most of her life and was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Steverson is survived by her sisters: Frances White and Ethel (Herman) Griffin of Ocilla; brothers Kenny (Debbie) Steverson of Fitzgerald and Will (Margid) Steverson of Germany; also several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John Steverson and brother-in-law Clifford White.
