Obituary

WORCESTER___Leo A. Desharnais, 78, of Donna Kay Rest Home, 16 Marble St., died Saturday Nov. 8 in Christopher House. His wife, Laura A.M. (Pratte) Desharnais died in February. His first wife, Eleanor F. (Gillespie) Desharnais died in 1972.

He leaves a brother-in-law, George Pratte of Twin Peaks, Ca., and nephews and nieces. A brother, Armand Desharnais of Worcester died in 2000; a sister, Shirley LaCasse of Dudley died in 1997. He was born in Worcester, son of Donat and Valade (Campeau) Desharnais and lived here all his life.

Mr. Desharnais was a laborer 31 years for Central Supply Co., and retired in 1991. After retiring he worked 6 years at Shaws Supermarket. He was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral Parish and would volunteer as a collector or cross bearer there.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday Nov. 12 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham St. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Cathedral, 38 High St., Worcester, 01609.
