Billie Lou Bryan Rivers, 75, of Chula passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. David Robison and David Simons will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rod Brown, Charles DeWeese, J. C. King, Tim Moore, Terry Story and David Tanner will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Rivers was born on May 30, 1935 in Tift County and was the daughter of William Bryan and Loyce Snow Bryan, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Winter. She was a medical records librarian and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Rivers is survived by her husband, H. L. “Lee” Rivers, Jr. of Chula; one daughter, Mika Rivers Krewer of Sycamore; one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Sue Winter of Grayson; two sisters, Vivian “Bitsy” King of Rebecca and Janet Winter Cochran of Lakeland; and two grandchildren, Andrew J. “Drew” Krewer of Tucson, Arizona and Kara Lee Krewer of Galesburg, Illinois.
